MEAT PRODUCTION IN TATARSTAN INCREASED BY 4% IN 2016

IN 2016, THE FARMS IN TATARSTAN PRODUCED 372,000 TONS OF MEAT, WHICH IS 4% MORE THAN IN 2015

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Nazip Hazipov at a meeting in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

He also added that milk production increased by 3% up to 1.2 mln tons, while the average milk yield increased to 141 kg per cow. The overall head count of cattle in Tatarstan is more than 742,000 head of livestock, including 250,000 cows.

Hazipov drew the attention of the meeting participants to the milk production stimulation by using the cattle genetic potential and productivity, balanced diet formulation, high-protein, energy packed fodder, and asked the specialists of the Regional Agricultural Departments to examine and use the available reserves in order to achieve higher industry results.

As previously reported, in 2017, Tatarstan government support of the agrarians will amount to more than 1.7 bln roubles. The key task for Tatarstan in 2017 is to maintain the growth rate of the agrarian business at 5%. This involves the animal and plant industry.
