SALON “APM MyasoProm”: In the Phase of Active Growth

The “APM MyasoProm” salon is traditionally a powerful driver for the development of the “Agroprodmash” exhibition. This is related primarily to the development dynamics of Russian meat industry secured by high investment activity accompanied by the increase in production and consumption of meat and finished products, achievement of self-sufficiency and access to world markets. Today, meat and meat products are among the priority groups of products for production increase. According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the target is 14 million tons of products in 2030.

Last year, meat exports for the first time exceeded the imports – 550,000 tons shipped from abroad compared to 700,000 tons exported by Russia to other countries. The Ministry of Agriculture plans to increase the exports of meat and meat products to 2 million tons in 2030. Importantly, there is also an increase in the supply of deep-processed products. According to expert estimates, from January to April 2024, Russian sausage exports increased by 21% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching almost 15,000 tons.

New investments in livestock and meat processing industry are needed to boost exports. The main focus of the agricultural investors’ efforts is the modernization of the existing capacities in order to improve production efficiency. Presenting the National Report on the progress and results of the implementation of the 2023 State Program for Agricultural Development and Regulation of Markets for Agricultural Products, Raw Materials and Food, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Oksana Luth noted that in the past year, 49 new and refurbished livestock facilities have been put into operation.

Manufacturers have to consider that in the current situation, any modernization project necessarily faces objective difficulties due to high import dependence and the current fragmentation of the equipment market. In this situation, the “APM MyasoProm” salon of the “Agroprodmash” exhibition proves to be much more important because it will offer many interesting options for the up-to-date modernization of livestock and processing companies, taking into account the current realities and needs.

First, “APM MyasoProm” becomes an effective platform for the internal transfer and exchange of efficient import substitution technologies and successful technical alternatives to the solutions that have proved impossible to import for one reason or another. Traditionally, “Agroprodmash” exhibition will present solutions by Russian equipment manufacturers and solution suppliers, who in recent decades have managed to go a long way in the development of competitive competences.

According to the “Rosspetsmash” association, the production of meat and poultry processing equipment almost doubled last year, although imports predominated in the segment, while the share of Russian equipment was still low.

However, Russian machine-building and engineering companies are ready to offer a lot of up-to-date products – individual machines and complex production lines, assemblies, components, compatible accessories and spare parts, consumables, etc.

Moreover, the current situation provides conditions for a close partnership between agro-industrial complexes, food companies and engineering centers on the basis of the machine-building factories, technical universities and system integrators. Over the last two years, Russian industrial producers have not only expanded their range of competencies, but also proved their worth in terms of willingness to become a reliable supplier of assemblies and components for high-tech imported equipment, and sometimes even to offer a full replacement. Each new “Agroprodmash” exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to see how every next event presents more and more new and advanced solutions from Russian participants in the exhibition.

Secondly, the upcoming “Agroprodmash” exhibition will be marked by a wide representation of Chinese and Turkish companies, which will try to demonstrate their most relevant solutions for livestock enterprises, primary processing plants and meat processing companies. This will allow them to rely on leading Russian integrators, who have gained extensive experience in the implementation of complex projects, promotion of imported equipment, and providing a full range of technical and advisory services to customers in the field of agricultural business and food production.

Thirdly, this year, a number of European equipment manufacturers will return to the “Agroprodmash” exhibition again to demonstrate their determination to continue working in the Russian market. Moreover, according to expert estimates, the economic performance of some of the European companies that remained in Russia is extremely high compared not only to 2022, but also to the serene days before the COVID pandemic.

Regardless of the preferences of the professional audience, the exhibition salon “APM MyasoProm” will offer a wide range of advanced and cutting-edge technical solutions for production companies of different sizes, as well as many ideas for the future. The participants include such companies as Antes, Arta-Consult, Bosk Plus, Veber Rus, GEA Farm Technologies Rus, Grasselli NFS, Peya International, Berchgroup Rus, NHL, Jarvis, INTERMIK-RUSTECH, KARL SCHNELL RUS, Compo, Laska Rus, Marelek, Reich, Meat Service, Russkaya Bronya, TVS-Mechanica, Technoclip, Handtmann Machine Factory, Unity Engineering, etc.

Automation will once again become the dominant trend. Russian and foreign companies will demonstrate their solutions for Russian meat industry, which include a large number of specialized and collaborative robots, tuned to solve current application problems.

The upcoming exhibition “Agroprodmash” will also present promising information systems and software-hardware complexes for digitizing production processes both of individual meat processing companies and large agro-industrial holding companies. They help to overcome the negative impact of personnel shortage, reduce the results of human errors, improve food safety, and even prevent violations of intellectual property rights and trademarks.

The upcoming exhibition promises to be marked by a new increase in participants from Russia, former Soviet Union and other foreign countries, while the representativeness of the “Agroprodmash-2024” exhibition will undoubtedly be a pleasant surprise for the professional audience of the exhibition.

Feedback of the participants

Tatyana Borisovna Shugurova, CEO of ООО “Arta-Consult”:
“Agroprodmash” is a very important event for us. First, it is the most representative exhibition in Russia: many leading manufacturers and suppliers of equipment demonstrate their innovations, and share interesting ideas and solutions at this exhibition. The visitors are well aware of this and are eager to visit “Agroprodmash”. Secondly, it is a very productive event. They say about “Agroprodmash” that “an exhibition feeds a year” for a reason. This year, we worked on a number of interesting projects, the basis of which was laid down at the previous exhibition last year. Therefore, we have high expectations for the upcoming “Agroprodmash-2024” exhibition.

It is very important for us to meet our partners at the exhibition, and, of course, new potential customers. Our expectations before the new exhibition are related to the increased interest of food companies in automation and robotics, which is attributed to the serious shortage of manpower on the labor market. This problem is typical for all sectors of the food industry – baking, confectionery, meat and dairy production. We are ready to offer automated and robotic solutions to the companies that need human resources reduction and replacement.

We also hope to draw the attention of our visitors to other strong competencies of our company, including solutions for the production of semi-finished products with a high degree of readiness. This market is currently growing and developing in Russia. Over the years, we have gained a lot of experience in the implementation of projects related to the production of ready meals, and we have become real experts in this field.

At the upcoming “Agro-prodmash” exhibition our company will present interesting innovations both in the field of production automation/robotics, and in the field of production of semi-finished products and ready meals.”

Alexey Bazanov, CEO of ООО “Meat Service”:
“We participate in the “Agroprodmash” exhibition every year, because we get the opportunity to present our equipment to interested investors and managers of meat processing companies, as well as to meet new customers.

At “Agroprodmash-2024” we will demonstrate a new generation of 200-liter cutters. We also have larger cutters in our production program – up to 500 liters, but for economic reasons, we decided to limit ourselves to the smaller version. Especially since the exhibition sample has already been sold to a customer, and will be displayed with a proud sign “Sold”. We will also present a grinding machine for sharpening cutter knives.

In any case, we have positive expectations for the exhibition that are based on our past participation experience. We are actively preparing for “Agroprodmash-2024”, while simultaneously working on the reconstruction and development of our production. That’s why we will come fully prepared to the upcoming exhibition.”

Krzysztof Smyk, CEO of ООО “INTERMIK-RUSTECH”:
“Agroprodmash” is one of the key exhibitions for our company. Here we have the opportunity to demonstrate new developments, our new equipment, and establish valuable partnerships. “Agroprodmash” promotes the exchange of experience, knowledge and generally contributes to the development of the meat industry in our country.

Our priority is to maintain contact with our old and new customers. And “Agroprodmash” is one of the main meeting places in this case. “Intermik-Rustech” is in the market for almost 30 years, and “Agroprodmash” gives us the opportunity to meet with customers with whom we made our first steps in Russia, as well as with those who recently became our partners. The exhibition also helps to expand our customer base. As they say, “the customers are never enough.”

By participating in the exhibition, we want to strengthen the image of our “Intermik” brand, and to present the new name of our main manufacturer “Metalbud Nowicki”. We hope to attract new clients, and to discuss potential projects with the existing customers. We also intend to analyze the entire market: who presents what today, look at the innovations of our competitors, assess the marketing moves of the other players in the equipment market, as well as the solutions for the meat processing industry. Maybe we will also get feedback on our current work.

At “Agroprodmash-2024” we will present our largest manufacturer “Metalbud Nowicki”. We will also tell the visitors why this company has changed its name to NOMA. Moreover, we will present Amax premium traysealers produced by one of the leading packaging equipment manufacturers SEALPAC. We will explore opportunities to expand our business. This means that we have a large program planned for the “Agroprodmash-2024” exhibition, and we have big expectations for this event.”

“Agroprodmash-2024” will be held from October 7 to 11 at “EXPOCENTER”, Krasnaya Presnya.
