RUSSIAN NATIONAL MEETING OF MEAT PROCESSORS: PROBLEM SOLVING IS POSSIBLE ONLY BY EFFORT CONSOLIDATION

AT THE 21ST INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION “AGROPRODMASH-2016”, THE NON-PROFIT SELF-REGULATORY ORGANIZATION “NATIONAL UNION OF MEAT PROCESSORS” HELD THE III RUSSIAN NATIONAL MEETING OF OWNERS AND MANAGEMENT OF MEAT PROCESSING COMPANIES “INDUSTRY PERFORMANCE IN NEW REALITIES”.

The business community members and representatives of the press and government institutions were widely interested in the issues and topics discussed at the meeting. And this is not surprising because this already traditional event has become a unique communicational platform allowing the participants to honestly and openly discuss the industry problems, create effective mechanisms of meat processing future development, and define the necessary agenda of the cooperation between the business community and the authorities.

The voice of the union is currently more significant and important to the authorities and business community members. The organization has become a real driving force that delivers the ideas of the meat processors to all levels of authority, as well as a reliable partner in solving industry problems. This was discussed by many participants of the meeting, both in their speeches and on the sidelines of the forum, among them: G. Ivanov, Deputy Head of Health Inspection Department of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, I. Nazarov, Head of Technical Regulation Branch of the Department of Agricultural and Food Market, Food and Processing Industry Regulation of Russian Ministry of Agriculture, A. Nevskiy, Deputy Head of Entrepreneurship Advocacy Branch of the Entrepreneurship Development Department of EEC, S. Yushin, Head of the Executive Committee of “National Meat Association”, and many other experts.

The business discussions included the current challenges that all industry representatives were concerned about. Moreover, they paid particular attention to the practical aspects of the technical regulation, the industry performance in the context of new environmental legislation and new economic realities. In this regard, particular interest was shown to the report of V. Andreev, Head of the Strategic Partnership of the international company Nielsen, “Consumer in New Economic Reality. Who is this Person?” The report thoroughly described the latest trends in consumer activity.

One of the key topics of Russian National Meeting of Meat Processors was the interaction with consumers. The participants took a close look at the phobias in consumer minds, methods of their elimination, and a set of measures for the industry image improvement.

The meeting resulted in the signing of a resolution in which the participants solidified the developed solutions for further development of the cooperation with government authorities, and supported the work of the non-profit self-regulatory organization “National Union of Meat Processors” for promoting a positive image of the industry. “This support of the organization’s initiatives by the managers and owners of companies throughout Russia will encourage further consolidation of the industry and will enhance the constructive dialogue between the members of the professional community and government authorities”, Ekaterina Luchkina, Executive Director of the Union said.
