On May 19, the “Russian Agricultural Policy: Product Safety and Quality” summit opened at Moscow’s Timiryazev Center. It was organized as part of the international exhibition “Meat Industry. Chicken King. Refrigeration Industry for the Agricultural Sector / MAP Russia 2026.” The event discussed global trends in the livestock and poultry industries, as well as public policy issues related to supporting and developing the agricultural sector in the current context. Ilya Ilyushin, Director of the Federal Center for Agroexport, participated in the summit’s plenary session.
In his speech, Ilya Ilyushin noted that Russia had confidently increased its meat exports by the end of 2025. In physical terms, shipments increased by 12% compared to the previous year, reaching almost 1 million tons, and in value terms, by 22%, exceeding $2.4 billion. In particular, shipments of poultry and by-products increased by 15%, to $946 million, pork and by-products by 41%, to $943 million, and beef by 1.7%, to $249 million. The volume of finished meat exports amounted to 92,000 tons, valued at $282 million.

“Russian products already account for significant shares of global poultry (2.8%) and pork (2.3%) imports. However, there are a number of promising areas where we can continue to expand our supplies. A significant breakthrough last year was the opening of the Philippine market, where we resumed poultry shipments and began shipping pork. Exports to the Philippines are also showing significant growth this year. I would also like to highlight the Malaysian market, where turkey shipments began this year,” emphasized the head of Agroexport. A network of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture abroad is an effective tool for supporting Russian exporters. Agricultural attachés currently operate in 40 countries, and promoting meat products is a priority. To boost exports, Agroexport organizes business missions abroad. This year, they will take place in China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Thailand.
The plenary session was also addressed by Oleg Kobyakov, Director of the FAO Liaison Office with the Russian Federation; Dmitry Aveltsov, Head of the Center for Agroanalytics of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation; Dmitry Rylko, Director General of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies; Boris Kershengolts, Chief Researcher at the Institute for Biological Problems of the Cryolithozone of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Andrey Dalnov, Chief Industry Analyst at the Center for Industry Expertise at Rosselkhozbank; Oksana Mikheeva, General Director of the EMEAT information and analytical agency; Tigran Papazyan, Head of the Alltech Representative Office in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia; Daria Snitko, Vice President and Head of the Analytical Department at Gazprombank; Nikolay Lychev, Head of the Agrotrend Workshop Analytical Center; and Lyubov Savkina, Director for Development of the AgroInsight Analytical Platform for the Agricultural Industry.
